Divorce laws vary from place to place but mainly, there are four means for a couple to end their partnership. The methods are dissolution, divorce, annulment and of course death. We will have a closer look at ways to get a quick divorce va or states with similar divorce laws in this article.

To begin with, either spouse may file for divorce after living in the state for at least six months. Keep in mind that the filing party, in addition to the six-month state residency, must be a resident of the county of filing for at least 90 days before filing. The papers may also be filed in the county where the defendant dwells.

A divorce could be contested as well as uncontested, and it may be a fault action. For a quick divorce va or other states, divorce may be awarded on no-fault basis, which would mean incompatibility and/or living separate and apart without cohabitation for one year.

A defendant could then decide to sign a Waiver of Service, and allow the divorce to proceed uncontested. An uncontested divorce might happen when the Defendant simply refuses to reply to the complaint. This, however, does not mean that the divorce will continue by default. A hearing will then be held and the plaintiff must show evidence to support his or her case that the relief requested should be granted.

An uncontested divorce also arises when the spouses manage to settle all differences before the case goes to a hearing, as is quite often the case. Hence, what would have started as a contested divorce becomes uncontested. Many fast divorces ordinarily start out this way and is by far the best way to gain a quick divorce va or any other state.

Quite a number of couples out there are looking for a quick divorce. Generally speaking, the longer the divorce procedure, the more expensive it will cost. Alternatively, couples can try obtaining a legal divorce decree on foreign soil such as the Caribbean.

A foreign divorce may be low in cost and relatively fast when compared to a US divorce, but do remember to consult a legal counsel before going ahead with a foreign divorce to make sure it is legally recognized in the US.
