Divorce laws vary from state to state but normally, there are four ways for a couple to end their union. The four are dissolution, divorce, annulment and of course death. We will have a closer look at ways to get a quick divorce in georgia or states with comparable divorce laws in this article.

To begin with, either party may file for divorce after living in the state for a minimum of 6 months. A defendant might then proceed to sign a Waiver of Service, and allow the divorce to proceed uncontested. An uncontested divorce may occur when the Defendant simply refuses to reply to the complaint. This, however, does not mean that the divorce will continue by default. A hearing will nevertheless be held and the plaintiff must provide evidence to support his or her allegations that the relief requested should be granted.

An uncontested divorce also arises when the spouses manage to settle all differences before the case arrives at a hearing, as is very often the case. Hence, what may have started as a contested divorce becomes uncontested. Many quick divorces normally begin this way and is by far the best way to gain a quick divorce in georgia or any other state.

Many couples out there are searching for a speedy divorce. Generally speaking, the longer the divorce procedure, the more costly it will cost. However, couples can try getting a legal divorce decree on foreign soil such as the Caribbean.

A foreign divorce may be quite affordable and relatively quick when compared to a US divorce, but do remember to consult a legal expert before going ahead with a foreign divorce to make sure it is legally recognized in the US.
